The phenomena of blog writing have become a huge success, and the age range of blog writers grew uncontrollably. Bloggers, as what the writers are called, are now caught up with the issues of privacy. This is understandable and expected because as we all know, you cannot have great control over your privacy online. And even if you have the choice whether or not to write in public, most people still opt to write publicly because that’s the default being used by almost all software and services available for blog writing. They just have to take the risk since one aspect of blogging is to have a global audience.

If you have any experience at all with blogging, I’m sure you’ve tried just one or two blogging platforms before. And I’m willing to bet some money that those two blogging platforms you’ve used are WordPress and Blogger. Why shouldn’t you use them, right? Both are top-notch blogging systems in their own right, fully customizable, and very powerful. In fact, if you’re not much into setting up a website and you would just really like to start writing, WordPress and Blogger offer a pretty complete out-of-the-box experience. No frills, if you’re into that sort of thing.

I use both blogging platforms, by the way, and I like both fine. However, Google’s blogging platform, Blogger, isn’t really used for my main sites. If I have a satellite blog that I need to quickly set up, Blogger works just fine – I just point domain names to their DNS servers and I blog away. All my big sites, however, run on WordPress.

WordPress is insanely customizable – even more so than Blogger. Due to the way WordPress is made, it is extremely flexible – this blogging platform is handy enough to use as a full pledged CMS, and it won’t even break a sweat. Also, WordPress has a commenting system that doesn’t make your readers go through loops, unlike that other platform.

Of course, WordPress isn’t perfect. There are a lot of things I wish it did out-of-the-box. Which is why, at least for the installed version, there are plugins that let me customize WordPress more.

What blogging platform do you use?

Most sites have several, all of which have to be appealed to in some way without alienating the others. Keeping in touch with all your target audiences can be difficult, and it’s something that needs to be worked into your SEO plan and any search engine optimization blogs or other content you write for your site.

Every target audience is going to have different interests and needs. Some of your target user groups might be quite similar, but finding a way to target each of them could have a far more beneficial effect than simply targeting them in a broad swathe. Your traffic and retention rates are more likely to improve when you can capture specific audiences.

Targeting specific groups with your content is much like targeting consumers with the right products. Retailers know that consumers tend to sit within certain groups. They also know that presenting a product to each group in a way that is tailored to that group is going to be more successful than leaving it to sit on the shelf. Retailers sell lavender incense as a luxury to professionals, and an essential home remedy to stressed parents. It’s all about finding the right angle.

Idea tracking and how to do it

Just as a retailer targets customers, a smart site owner will target site users with content. Just about all site owners try to appeal to readers with their content, but most of them do it in a broad way. For a better effect, it is important to think about separate groups of site users and what will appeal to them.

In order to find out what will appeal, it’s important to research. The search engine optimisation process involves some target group research, and you can discuss this with us at www.seoconsult.co.uk. In order to effectively target content to your user groups, you need to go a little further and track their ideas.

When idea tracking, look at the sites your target groups visit. Look into their forums, investigate their social sites. Look at the content on competitor sites. Take note of the ideas presented there and how they are received. You can use a list of these ideas when planning your content.

Consider audiences when drawing up a content plan

It’s a good idea to have some sort of plan for the content you’re going to need to post for your ongoing search engine optimisation. SEO experts have discovered that keeping a site up to date with fresh content can improve rankings and keep existing rankings healthy.

When drawing up your content plan, it’s important not to just consider the keywords you have, but the way in which they apply to your target audiences. It’s no use having a page come up for ‘healthy fur’ if the article you’ve posted is about cats and the target user is a dog owner. Of course, there will be some natural delineation due to the keywords themselves. It is important to map out the different kinds of content and plan the frequency with which they will appear.

According to a recent reports, more people are watching videos and TV shows online than ever before. In the past year, the amount of video Americans watched online went up 66 percent. In the month of February alone, Americans watched 10 billion videos, attracted by the instant availability of international shows that they used to have to wait for, and the attraction of having to sit through less commercials. Even the prospect of having to pay for their TV shows at $1.99 a pop, or $19.99 for a season pass, on the iTunes store is not turning people off.

It seems that they are finding the development process to be too short to come out with the best possible product for the buck. I mean, the browser is free for all to download and install, with the option of getting the latest beta editions for testing.

But releasing software too fast may be the down fall of Mozilla, the famed open-source based company that has several projects related to the internet. Will it make or break their dominance in the browser market, time will surely show us the true relevance of such fears.

It had nothing to do with legalities, and no judicial action was necessary. However, proving my innocence to friends and strangers alike somehow seemed important to me at that time. Good thing I religiously maintain a personal blog, and it helped to connect loose ends in the story.

My experience is not an isolated case. And blogs can indeed serve as proof of legitimacy for incidents that can otherwise never be proven. When I started blogging, the first thing that I had to think about was a cool URL from a selection of domain names. People know from the name alone that the entries are mine. Blog sites also have date and timestamps that accurately record entries. Like emails, they cannot be easily tampered with. Many a time have these electronic evidences been used as valid proof in the court room. Blog sites also allow users to link to other blogs, and make and receive comments from other users as well. A few friends made entries and comments on my blog entries that are difficult to revoke. A lot of popular networking sites also allow blogs to be linked to their websites, which creates even more blog exposure. I have used all these features to validate my version of the story to prove my innocence.

I still post entries to my blog, and features like hard links to other blog sites and communities allow all users to promote one another. Who knows, maybe they will be able to use my comments as evidence someday. But I hope not.

Successes and promotions, bad dates and break-ups, musings and wanderings. Blogging changed but little since I started *cough* years ago. People still use blogging for journal tracking. However, the aspect of electronic business has made its way effortlessly into the blogging scene.

Links to viable businesses allow entrepreneurs to cultivate their growing business. Tourism and travel agencies all over the world reply on the power of information technology to promote not just their own, but their nation’s economic and social growth as well. There was this one interesting blogsite that I regularly visit. The blogger writes of the adventures and escapades from all over Asia and Australia. His particular entry on Sydney was so amusing that I almost booked a package tour through the Australia business directory that was linked to the blog. Another entry he has was on Thailand. His anecdote on his 2-day spa experience made me grab the keys to my car and head for the town’s famous spa hangout. I even got a much recommended chamomile frizz from the next door coffee shop. At some point, I believe I need to stop piggy-backing on this blogger’s adventures and look for my own. Maybe even give him a few times myself. Sure.

However, another blog caught my attention due to its sheer creative writing. Links to classical literary pieces and even same readings made the site particularly enjoyable. So I say come what may for bloggers. You’ll never know what opportunity you may give to your avid readers.
