Blogging and Creative Writing
April 24th, 2008 by Frank
I often ask myself whether creative writing styles are appropriate to blogs.
Think about it, articles on news web sites are mostly informational. If readers only look for information and facts that are not biased, then they should just go to the major news web sites, like NYtimes, AP, and even Google News.
Why, then, do people prefer to frequent blogs? The answer is plain and simple, I think. They want more than an unbiased presentation. Most likely, these readers are looking for opinion rather than fact. They go to blogs because they want to know both the informational facts AND also what other people think as well.
So the next time you write a blog entry, try to bear in mind that you don’t just have to be too factual. Try not to be too bland and play it safe. Don’t be afraid to play around with words and express your feelings on your blog posts!
