If your answer “yes” to seven or more of the following questions, you are probably addicted to the internet.
- Do you often you stay online longer than you intended?
- Do you neglect work, assignments, or household chores in order to surf?
- Does your family complain about the amount of time you spend online?
- Do you frequently prefer the companionship of online friends over your real-life friends?
- Do you find yourself lying when questioned casually about what how much time you spend on the internet?
- Imagine life without the internet. Does it seem boring and empty?
- Would you rather surf rather than sleep?
- Are you annoyed when a family member disturbs your online time?
- When you’re not online, do you fantasize about the next time you go online again?
- Have you previously tried to reduce your online time and failed?
